Hvar in September

Hvar in September? Perfect timing! The summer madness is winding down, the crowds are gone, but the sunshine, warm water, and vacation vibes are still going strong. This Croatian island is a literal gem – mountains, sea views, and thousands of years of fascinating history. Let’s pack those bags!

Heavenly Vrboska

This tiny village stole our hearts. Surrounded by pine forests and tucked into a narrow bay where the river meets the sea, it’s beautiful and peaceful. A bike ride through lavender-scented hills with ocean views? Instant serotonin. There’s even a sweet little sandy beach nearby for sunset watching. The town itself is all charm: church-spotted old town, cute architecture, and seafood spots that seriously understand the assignment. Vrboska is peak vacation chill..

The Vrboska-Jelsa Walk

Feel like a gentle seaside stroll? There’s a lovely path right by the water linking the villages of Vrboska and Jelsa. It’s so chill you could push a stroller along it, and the views? Chef’s kiss. Jelsa, by the way, is a vibe on its own, where charming old town meets dramatic hills. You could easily spend the whole day here.

Hvar’s Coves & Stari Grad Chic

The northern coast of Hvar is all about iconic little coves and snaky roads leading to limestone cliffs you can dive off like you’re in some perfume commercial. Crystal-clear water? Yes. Mediterranean magic? Also yes. The standout here is Stari Grad (literally “Old Town”). Think: cobbled streets, harbor-side cafes, local wine, and so much rustic beauty you might cry (in a good way). It’s the oldest settlement on the island, surrounded by fertile vineyards and UNESCO-protected farmland. Basically, it’s history and aesthetic goals in one.

Final thoughts? Hvar’s calling

This island is the post-season getaway: still sunny even in winter, but minus the peak-season chaos. Hop over via Drvenik or take a dreamy ferry from Split and just… let it all soak in. You’ll come back with glowy skin, relaxed shoulders, and a serious case of “I need to move to Croatia” syndrome. Plan your next holiday HERE ❤️
